Creating outdoor spiritual settings is important because, as elders and their families look to find a retirement community for their next stage of life, having an area to honor and explore one’s faith is an important component of the community.

McAuley Convent went beyond the indoor multi-purpose room to meet this need as a benefit for the retired Sisters of Mercy. This outdoor ‘room’ is purposely designed to evoke specific emotions and feeling reminiscent of traditional spiritual settings with elements such as water features wind chimes, bird houses and feeders, and many other familiar garden elements.
