The Ruby Pardue Blackburn Adult Day Health Care Center, located in North Wilkesboro, NC, has been caring for families since 2008. The Adult Enrichment Services of Wilkes is a non-profit organization that manages The Ruby Pardue Blackburn Adult  Day Care Center. The Mission of the Adult Day Center is to “provide residents of Wilkes and surrounding counties with adult day care services in a safe, peaceful and enriching environment through dedicated, compassionate, understanding and professional staff.”- Ruby Pardue Blackburn Adult Day Health Care Center.

An important component of the Adult Day Center is the outdoor Memory Care Garden. The garden is a large area that encompasses walking paths, a covered patio, areas for horticultural therapy and multiple sitting areas. The evergreen plantings around the perimeter of the fence obscure views of the adjacent shopping center. Clients within the garden feel as if they are in their own ‘backyard’ garden oasis. The caregivers are extremely active in creating programs and activities within the garden. The garden is an essential component of the Adult Day Center, as evidenced by their group pictures and monthly newsletters.
