The existing courtyard garden was over 30 years old and provided little interest for the elders of the community. The garden was completely renovated to include new tinted concrete walks created pathways for strolling and enjoying nature.

A fountain became a destination for elders as well as family members. The shade umbrella became a place to meet and socialize. The variety of plantings provides year round interest in the garden. Hummingbird feeders supplement the plantings that attract the birds naturally to visit. Staff meetings, cook-outs, family gatherings all occur within the garden. A butterfly release program occurs annually, along with other community events.
